Today education sector acts as one of the major factors of sustainable development of national economy and influences comprehensively the qualitative level of the human capital assets formed in the state as one of the components of the national wealth. In the context of economic globalization there is a necessity to integrate national and regional educational systems into single educational space.
Innovative approach to integration of the curricula of the universities, participation in the academic mobility projects and the international interuniversity cooperation will allow not only conducting scientific research and formation of the knowledge-intensive ideas, but also organization of the educational process for training of highly qualified specialists at the high international level.
Internationalization of educational and research processes is a strategic vector of development of VSU named after P.M. Masherov.
Within the international activity of the university the following key directions are implemented:
- international cooperation on the scientific and educational dimensions;
- participation and support of programs of the academic mobility of students and teachers;
- international project and grant activity;
- participation in regional and international associations.
Currently at the University over 700 foreign students from more than 20 countries of the world study according to the main educational programms (a bachelor degree, a magistracy, a postgraduate study).
Among the partners of VSU named after P.M. Masherov – more than 100 lead educational institutions of Europe and Asia among which there is University of Hildesheim (Germany), Magna Carta College Oxford (Great Britain), University of Daugavpils (Latvia), Jan Evangelista Purkyně University in Ústí nad Labem (Czech Republic), University of Nish (Serbia), the Xinjiang pedagogical university, Biochemical technical academy of the Peking unitary University (China), State University of Smolensk, Institute of Pedagogics and Psychology (Russian Federation), State Pedagogical Institute of Pavlodar (Kazakhstan), the Ganja State University (Azerbaijan), Uzbek State Institute of Physical Culture (Uzbekistan) and others.
VSU named after P.M. Masherov actively participates in the work of such international organizations and associations as the International Society of Applied Mathematics and Mechanics, the American Mathematical Society, the European Society of Mechanics, the European Society of Biomechanics, the European Mycologic Society, the International Academy of Ecology and others.
