MASHEROVTSY TOOK PART IN THE INTERNATIONAL FORUM «GREAT HERITAGE - COMMON FUTURE»
On June 22, the plenary session of the 2nd International Forum of the Union State, «Great Heritage – Common Future» was held at the Brest Regional Social and Cultural Center. This large-scale event was initiated by the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union of Belarus and Russia and was timed to coincide with a tragic date for our countries: the 85th anniversary of the start of the Great Patriotic War. Representatives of parliaments from 16 countries, public figures, and experts participated in the forum, discussing issues of preserving shared historical memory.
Masherovites – the university's student and working youth – joined the plenary session via videoconference. Also present in the conference hall were Irina Syomkina, Vice-Rector of VSU named after P.M. Masherov, and Olga Koshtaleva, First Secretary of the BRSM Public Organization of VSU named after P.M. Masherov.
President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko addressed a greeting to the forum participants, as well as to everyone who joined the broadcast. Specifically, he stated that the main task today – is to protect historical memory. And the primary role in this belongs to young people, who will live and work in the modern world, relying on the legacy of their ancestors, and pass this baton on to future generations.
