On November 26 the Head of the European Union's representative Office in Belarus Dirk Schuebel visited Vitebsk state University named after P. M. Masherov within the framework of the forum «EU-Belarus Cooperation: Vitebsk region».

Within the framework of the event was held the meeting of the delegation with the Vice-rector of VSU Miroslava Yuzefovna Bobryk, the head of the General Directorate for Education Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee Dmitry Leonidovich Khoma. During the meeting the guests were able to learn more about the University, offered specialties for training, and implementation of the international projects.

The participants of the meeting of the University administration with the Head of the EU Delegation were also the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Austria to Belarus Aloysia Vergetter, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Poland to Belarus Artur Michalski, the head of the Consulate of the Republic of Latvia in Vitebsk Cynthia Paura, the adviser to the Ambassador for economic Affairs of the Embassy of the Republic of Estonia in Belarus Kalvi Noormyagi, head of the cooperation programs Berend de Groot and others.

Dirk Schuebel the Head of the European Union's representative Office in Belarus said:

«It’s my first time in Vitebsk and I’m glad to meet your University. Our delegation has come to discuss further cooperation not only in the sphere of economy, but also in the sphere of education. We especially want to get to know the regions, since the capital of the country is not the whole country. I want as many European Union countries as possible to cooperate with Belarus. We have several European-level educational programs for students, but I hope that there will be more such programs. I think we still don't know enough about each other».

After the meeting with the University administration Dirk schubel spoke with students and teachers of the law and history faculties on the topic «Development of relations between the European Union and the Republic of Belarus».
