On March 25, the team of the VSU named after P.M. Masherov took part in the regional stage of the republican competition on the basics of life safety "Students. Safety. Future"

Four teams competed for the title of the winner – Vitebsk State University named after P.M. Masherov, Vitebsk State Academy of Veterinary Medicine, Polotsk State University and Vitebsk branch of the International University "MITSO".

The competitive program of the competition included the following stages: "Business card", "Experts in housing and communal services", "Man-made emergencies", "First aid" and "Student social Internet project".

The most interesting and spectacular stages were traditionally held on the basis of the fire rescue squad "Vityas". The participants had to put on combat clothes of a rescuer in a matter of seconds, climb an assault ladder in equipment, overcome an obstacle course with fire barriers, a hinged ferry, eliminate a traffic accident and organize a search for victims in a smoke-filled room. These tasks required full concentration of forces and attention, and it was not easy for students at all. In addition, in the Security Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, boys and girls competed in the ability to provide first aid.

Having acquired invaluable skills in rescue work and excelled in all tests, the VSU team became the winner and will represent Vitebsk region at the republican stage.

"Students. Safety. Future" is a competition on the basics of life safety for active students of higher and secondary specialized educational institutions. This is not a one-time project, but a continuation of the purposeful work of the Ministry of Emergency Situations with the aim of forming a conscious and responsible attitude to safety issues, popularizing a healthy and safe lifestyle and the profession of a rescue firefighter, activating intellectual and creative potential, as well as creating conditions for the manifestation of social activity of the younger generation.

Приобретя бесценные навыки в спасательном деле и отлично проявив себя во всех испытаниях, команда ВГУ стала победителем и теперь представит Витебщину на республиканском этапе.

«Студенты. Безопасность. Будущее» – конкурс по основам безопасности жизнедеятельности для активной студенческой молодёжи высших и средне специальных учебных заведений. Это не разовый проект, а продолжение целенаправленной работы Министерства по чрезвычайным ситуациям с целью формирования сознательного и ответственного отношения к вопросам безопасности, популяризации здорового и безопасного образа жизни и профессии спасателя-пожарного, активизации интеллектуального и творческого потенциала, а также создания условий для проявления социальной активности молодого поколения.
