On January 16th, a round table event "Theoretical Issues and Applied Aspects of Linguistics in the 21st Century" started at the Vitebsk State University dedicated to the celebration of the anniversary date of the birth of the legendary scientist, Doctor of Philology, Professor Valentina Avraamovna Maslova, whose scientific and educational activities have been closely associated with Vitebsk State University named after Petr Masherov for over 40 years.

During the ceremonial part of the event, Valentina Avraamovna was awarded the title of "Honorary Professor of the Vitebsk State University named after P.M. Masherov" for her outstanding contributions to the development of philological science, the training of valuable personnel, and her contribution to the international recognition of the university and strengthening its prestige.
