On May 20-21, the Faculty of Humanities and Language Communication at Vitebsk State University named after P. M. Masherov is holding a scientific and methodological seminar titled "The Specifics of Teaching a Non-Native Language in Various Communicative Speech Environments."

Participants include faculty and students from the university, as well as teachers from Polotsk College of VSU named after P. M. Masherov, such as Valentina Gudoshnkova and Marina Korsak, and from Orsha College of VSU named after P. M. Masherov, like Ekaterina Kuznetsova and Irina Aleynikova, along with renowned scholars from the Russian Federation. Representatives from MIREA – Russian Technological University include the Head of the Department of Russian as a Foreign Language Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor Elena Tarasova,, and her colleagues. Specialists from the Russian State University named after A. N. Kosygin (Technologies. Design. Art) include the Head of the Department of Russian as a Foreign Language Doctor of Philological Sciences, Professor Elena Markova, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor Alina Pozdnyakova, and a renowned methodologist in teaching Russian as a foreign language.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Language Communication, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor Sergey Nikolaenko, addressed those present in the conference hall, noting that this format for the event was chosen deliberately. The scientific and methodological seminar offers participants the opportunity to engage in face-to-face conversations, listen to presentations, and ask questions. Head of the Department of World Languages, Doctor of Philological Sciences, Professor Irina Zaitseva, expressed gratitude to the representatives of Russian universities for visiting their alma mater. After the exchange of gifts and souvenirs, the scientific and methodological seminar commenced with the presentation of reports and a discussion of key issues.

Later, a tour will be organized for the distinguished guests from the Russian Federation to the Museum of the History of Vitebsk People’s Art School, and on May 21, they will enjoy a walking tour of Vitebsk and a visit to the Marc Chagall House Museum.
