From the 8th to 21st of July, 4 students of the Faculty of Management and Information Technologies, 2 students of the Faculty of Science and Technology and 11 students of the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics immersed themselves in the unique atmosphere of the Summer University programme in Krasnoyarsk. In total, the international educational project ‘Summer University’ gathered in SFU one hundred Russian and more than three hundred foreign participants from Armenia, Belarus, Brazil, Chile, Ecuador, Egypt, Ecuador, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Panama, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, South Africa, Zambia and Zimbabwe. The project participants from P.M. Masherov VSU had a unique opportunity to develop in various fields such as ‘Information Technologies in Humanities’ and ‘Psychology and Pedagogy’.

The programme of the ‘Summer University’ consisted not only of the educational part, but also included a competition for the development of social projects. In a team format they created a prototype of a mobile application for ordering ready-made food boxes, and also developed the Easy Way project, which allows tourists and other visitors to the Russian Federation to adapt more quickly with the help of convenient access to the necessary information. In the process, they not only gained valuable knowledge in the field of information technology, but also learnt how to interact effectively in a team.

The Summer University at SFU also provided unique opportunities to participate in master classes and lectures from leading experts in various fields. The students got acquainted with the heads of IT companies and learnt a lot of useful knowledge and skills in SoftSkills.

In addition, a series of cultural and leisure activities were prepared for the participants: industrial and historical excursions, sports competitions, various creative master classes, which familiarised the students with the culture, nature, life and life of the Krasnoyarsk region. The participants of the excursions visited Krasnoyarsk Pillars, a unique natural park, where they were able not only to admire breathtaking panoramas of the city and the Yenisei River, but also to test their strength and endurance. Excursions to Divnogorsk and the Krasnoyarsk Hydroelectric Power Plant, the Surikov Museum Estate and a climb up Mount Sopka were unforgettable experiences that will remain in their memories for a long time.

The multinational festival, one of the final events of the project, was especially bright and memorable. According to the organisers and participants, it turned out to be unusually warm and cosy, everyone felt like an integral part of one big family. The tasting of national cuisine, unforgettable performance of folk dances and songs was tinged with a rich palette of national costumes - this is how the holiday was remembered by the participants and organisers. Belarus was represented from the P.M. Masherov All-Union State University by Dina Zalesskaya, a student of FG&JK, who sang the song ‘The Beloved is not given away’.

VSU students express their gratitude to the management of the Siberian Federal University and the organisers of the ‘Summer University’ programme represented by the management of the Institute of Business Process Management and the Institute of Space and Information Technologies for a comfortable stay, interesting lectures, master classes and events, delicious food and attentive volunteers who were always there for them. The participants also noted the value of communication with colleagues from different countries and the exchange of experience and knowledge. All students, regardless of their nationality, felt united during the project.

For VSU students, the Summer University project was a unique experience of true immersion in the world of science, technology and creativity. This journey left the brightest impressions, enriched knowledge and became a source of inspiration for future achievements in various fields.
