On the 26th of September, within the framework of the programme of youth and student tourism, P.M. Masherov VSU hosted a delegation from the Northern (Arctic) Federal University named after M.V. Lomonosov (Arkhangelsk). A short excursion was organised for the guests, during which they were able to get acquainted with the history, scientific and educational potential and material base of the VSU.
Thus, in the People's Memorial Museum of P.M. Masherov its curator Olga Puteeva told the Arkhangelsk citizens about the outstanding political and statesman, legendary partisan commander, Hero of the Soviet Union, whose name our university proudly bears - Pyotr Masherov.
The next point of the excursion was the Faculty of Chemical, Biological and Geographical Sciences, which was of particular interest to the guests, as the majority of SAHU students are future teachers of biology and geography. Tatyana Tolkacheva, Dean of the Faculty of Chemical, Biological and Geographical Sciences, told in detail what kind of scientific work is carried out at the faculty, what specialities the students study, what kind of research they carry out in the laboratories.
Elena Zalesskaya, Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Information Technologies, told about the potential of scientific schools and innovative developments for medicine, veterinary medicine and other spheres at the Faculty of Mathematics and Information Technologies, and master's student Denis Kitarov revealed the secrets of robotics training.
The representatives of the Lomonosov Northern (Arctic) Federal University were also impressed by the excursion to the Faculty of Art and Graphic Arts, where they enthusiastically photographed the museum exhibits and viewed the photo exhibition of Leonard Merzhvinsky.
Saying goodbye to VSU, the students of SAHU sincerely thanked for the interesting time spent and noted that they would be glad to study at such a modern university.
