On November 6th, in connection with the 33rd anniversary of the Declaration of Independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan, a delegation from Vitebsk State University (VGU), consisting of the First Vice-Rector of the University, Andrei Pavlovich Mekhovich, and the Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Citizens' Training, Valery Vatslavovich Yancha, participated in a solemn reception organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan. A commemorative gift was presented to the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Republic of Belarus, Rahmatulla Djurabaevich Nazarov, and during the conversation, prospects for cooperation between our countries in the field of education were discussed.

Over the years of independence, Uzbekistan has achieved impressive progress in the development of its economy and social sphere, maintains good neighborly relations with neighboring states, and is an active participant in international organizations.

Vitebsk State University is actively involved in training highly qualified specialists for the real sector of the Uzbek economy. Under an agreement with Karakalpak State University named after Berdakh, a joint educational program is being implemented to train specialists in the field of information technology. Citizens of Uzbekistan are studying international law and jurisprudence at VSU, and are receiving education in the field of physical culture and sports.
