On July 10th, H.E. Mr. Zhang Wenquan, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of Belarus, visited P.M. Masherov VSU. The honored guest was welcomed from the very doorstep in accordance with the best university traditions.

An exhibition showcasing the achievements of Chinese students, of whom about 1000 are currently studying at P.M. Masherov VSU, was organized in the university lobby. As part of the exhibition, a Chinese tea ceremony was held, and guests were introduced to the high results of the university's research, sports, and innovation-project activities.

On the P.M. Masherov VSU stage, students demonstrated their best vocal and choreographic performances from their "collection of victories." Among them was a joint performance by Belarusian and Chinese students, "Kalinka," which reflects national colors and has won the audience's affection.

Following this, negotiations were held between members of the delegation from the diplomatic mission of the Embassy of China in the Republic of Belarus and the university leadership, and Mr. Zhang Wenquan had a personal meeting with P.M. Masherov VSU students from the PRC.

Mr. Zhang Wenquan also reviewed the graduation works of Chinese master's degree students and students from the Faculty of Arts and Graphics. As a long-term memento, the P.M. Masherov VSU community presented Mr. Ambassador with his portrait, created by the renowned artist and teacher of the Department of Fine Arts, Sergei Sotnikov. Belarusian students also seized the opportunity to demonstrate their success in mastering the Chinese language and culture.

The visit program included a tour of the P.M. Masherov VSU Botanical Garden, which houses the International Alley of the 80th Anniversary of the Great Victory.
