Students from 21 countries, representing over 30 universities, have formed teams to participate in a large-scale inter-university competition. It will be held as part of the first international environmental forum "Zemlyane" from June 22 to 29.

The most prestigious higher education institutions are sending their delegates to the capital of the Pomorie region. Among them is P.M. Masherov VSU. The university will be represented at the international forum by the "Ekosfera" (Ecosphere) team, consisting of students and teachers from the Faculty of Chemistry, Biology and Geography and the Faculty of Mathematics and Information Technology.

The intellectual battle of universities will be the main event of the "Zemlyane" forum. The list of participants is impressive: MSU, MGIMO, HSE University, RUDN University, RTU Mirea, KFU, Demidov yaroslavl State University, RCTU, FEFU, BSU, etc.

The teams from the strongest universities will work in an innovative camp built from scratch near Kholmogory, the birthplace of Mikhail Lomonosov. Under the guidance of experienced mentors, students will work on creating projects where modern technologies provide solutions to pressing environmental problems, contributing to the improvement of the environment. The projects themselves could subsequently be integrated into existing industries or infrastructure. The speakers will include heads of regions, leaders of ministries and specialized agencies, heads of public associations – including the Russian "Znanie" Society – and top managers of state corporations and major private companies.

Key attention in the forum's business program will be paid to the following topics: "The Northern Sea Route and Technologies for Its Development," "Environmental technologies for future cities," "New energy and materials of the future," "Nature for future generations," and "Climate management."

In the final stage, the jury will select the most promising projects. Their developers will be able to become residents of the "Lomonosov" cluster – the flagship of the "Vorobyovy Gory" innovative scientific and technological center at MSU – or implement their initiatives with the forum's partner companies.

The championship of ideas will conclude with a concert on the main stage of the Arkhangelsk multi-format festival "Bely Iyun" (White June), within which the "Zemlyane" forum is taking place. The forum is organized by the government of the Arkhangelsk region, the All-Russian environmental movement "Ekosistema," and the "Lomonosov" innovation cluster. Forum partners include the Russian Environmental Operator (REO) and the Russian "Znanie" Society.
