On May 6, Alexey Shmatko, Director of the Institute of Regional Economic Problems of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Doctor of Economics, Professor, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Education, Honored Worker of Science and High Technologies of the Russian Federation, and Honored Scientist of St. Petersburg, spoke online to students at our university's conference hall.

Before delivering his lecture, «Modern Trends in the Development of the Digital Economy and Their Impact on the Didactics of Professional Education», Alexey Dmitrievich read a congratulatory message on Victory Day from Vladimir Okrepilov, Doctor of Economics, Professor, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Academic Director of the Institute of Regional Economic Problems of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and Honorary Professor of the P.M. Masherov VSU. In his congratulatory address to the Masherovites, Vladimir Valentinovich noted that in the current geopolitical situation, preserving the historical truth about the heroism of fraternal peoples in the Great Patriotic War is a civic duty and the responsibility of educational and research teams.

Alexey Dmitrievich then spoke to those present about the digital economy, the types of activities within the digital economy, Russian digital formats, the characteristics of high-tech companies, the gig economy, and much more.

In turn, Yevgeny Arshansky, Vice-Rector for Research at VSU named after P.M. Masherov and Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor, thanked the speaker for his presentation on such a relevant and important contemporary topic and expressed his wish to continue the tradition of holding such lectures and further cooperation between our universities. In conclusion, Yevgeny Yakovlevich, on behalf of the entire staff, faculty, and students of VSU, congratulated the Institute of Regional Economic Problems of the Russian Academy of Sciences and personally Alexey Dmitrievich Shmatko, as well as Vladimir Valentinovich Okrepilov, on Victory Day.
