The celebration "Dedication to Sinologists and Vitebsk Residents" turned out to be truly international, which took place within the framework of the traditional Festival of the Belarusian Language at the Faculty of Humanities and Language Communications on December 12.

In our university, you can often hear about intercultural communication, interaction of cultures, peoples, and languages. And it is right when foreign students who come to study in Belarus get acquainted with the cultural features and traditions of the country where they will live and receive education for several years.

On this day, Belarusian students and faculty members gathered in the assembly hall of the main building to learn more about traditional Chinese culture, as well as students from the Faculty of Foreign Citizens Training from China to get acquainted with the national Belarusian culture.

On this day, the students from China sang "Kupalinka" and read poems by Robert Rozhdestvensky, while Belarusian students studying at the Faculty of Humanities and Language Communications surprised the audience with the reading of poems by Chinese poets. The joint concert performances by Belarusian and foreign students were a real confirmation of the friendship between representatives of different countries.

The culmination of the celebration was the ceremony of "Initiation into Sinologists and Vitebsk Residents." It was the first time that students from the China were initiated into Vitebsk residents. They gladly pledged to be diligent in their studies and to respectfully treat the culture and traditions of Belarus. As a souvenir, Belarusian students gave Chinese students a symbol of our homeland – a cornflower, and Chinese students presented red envelopes with souvenirs to the first-year students of the Faculty of Humanities and Language Communications who had been initiated into Sinologists.

At the end of the event, Sergey Nikolaenko thanked everyone for the wonderful concert and suggested continued friendship between the faculties. Sergey Vladimirovich also noted Valeriy Vatslavovich Yanch, the dean of the Faculty of Foreign Citizens Training, and the Vice-Dean, Olga Anatolyevna Lyubchenko, senior teachers of the department of Russian as a Foreign Language, Tatyana Sergeevna Denisenko and Natalya Mikhailovna Tatarinova, associate professor of the same department, Olga Alexandrovna Klimkovich; as well as the senior teacher of the Department of Belarusian and Russian Philology, Tatyana Ivanovna Sinkevich, and the head of this department, Tatyana Petrovna Slesareva. The concert ended with a joint performance of the "Hymn of Mashersov Students".
