On the Day of Unity of the Peoples of Belarus and Russia VSU named after P.M. Masherov held a round table in videoconference mode together with the Center for Advanced Professional Training of Smolensk region. At the beginning of the event the parties congratulated each other on the holiday, which is significant for the brotherly peoples and expressed confidence that close friendly ties between Smolensk and Vitebsk will be preserved and cooperation will continue, including in the educational sphere.

The first to speak about the Center for advanced vocational training was its director Igor Antonenkov. Igor Nikolaevich noted that such centers are a new format of educational institutions in Russia. For example, the Smolensk center is only three years old, but even during this time it has managed to provide additional vocational education and vocational training services to a considerable number of people - from schoolchildren to pensioners.

Svetlana Kostyukova, the Vice-Rector for Educational Work of VSU, introduced the participants of the round table from Vitebsk region: Natalia Baido, head of the department of educational work with youth, Ekaterina Rebitskaya, head of the laboratory of legal information, Tatiana Yaskevich, deputy director of educational work of Orsha College of VSU. They introduced Smolensk residents to the projects that are being implemented in the educational environment of Vitebsk region, told about their experience of educational work and additional education, about the School of Leaders "Masherovtsy", the Laboratory of Legal Awareness of VSU and many other things.

The meeting was also attended by students of the Faculty of Law and the Faculty of Mathematics and Information Technology of our university.

Summarizing the results, Igor Antonenkov noted that the logical continuation of the teleconference will be the offline communication. The face-to-face meeting, during which the guests from Smolensk will get acquainted with the system of vocational education of Vitebsk region, is scheduled for the end of the second decade of April.
