On March 26, a round table on patriotic education was held in Vitebsk State University named after P. M. Masherov within the framework of humanitarian and economic activities under the general title "St. Petersburg Meetings in Belarus". The event was attended by a delegation from St. Petersburg, representatives of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee and the VSU staff.

Yesterday a protocol of intentions of cooperation between Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee and the administration of Petrodvortsovy district of St. Petersburg was signed. And today's meeting will allow to outline common prospects of cooperation within the framework of the youth policy of the regions and develop a road map.

Vyacheslav Khrol, deputy head of the main department of ideological work and youth affairs of Vitebsk regional executive committee, head of the department of ideological work, youth affairs, religions and nationalities: "The projects that are being implemented in our regions are similar in many ways. There are some innovative moments, but in general we move in the same direction in the issues of patriotic education. The main emphasis our brotherly countries place on the preservation of historical memory".

As Alexandra Zakharova, the first deputy head of the administration of Moskovsky district (St. Petersburg), noted, "it is very important to find new forms of work with young people, which will be relevant and interesting, in order to reach every young person, so that the values and basic postulates were accessible and understandable".

The main achievements at VSU in ideological and educational activities were presented by Svetlana Kostyukova, Vice-Rector of the University for Educational Work. Then each of the parties presented in more detail interesting projects and ideas, within the framework of which it is possible to identify points of interaction.

The guests of the university also familiarized themselves with the material and technical base and scientific potential of VSU, visiting training classes and special laboratories.
