As part of the Year of Cooperation between the Republic of Belarus and the People's Republic of China in Science, Technology, and Innovation, a joint meeting of research groups from P.M. Masherov VSU and Guizhou Normal University was held via videoconference on May 21. The meeting was dedicated to discussing issues in the field of hydro- and bioecology with the aim of developing a joint scientific project.

The meeting was attended by Belarusian and Chinese students, young scientists, and researchers. Mutual distance learning lectures on the hydrological conditions of Belarus and China were organized for them.

The speakers were: from the Belarusian side – Associate Professor of the Department of Ecology and Geography, Candidate of Biological Sciences, Associate Professor Inna Aleksandrovna Litvenkova; from the Chinese side – Director of the International Joint Research Center for Water Ecology, Doctor of Hydrology, Professor Li Qiuhua.

The meeting discussed the genetic, hydrological, and biochemical conditions for the formation and development of water bodies, as well as the features of the organization and management of water resources in the two countries. Existing common key scientific problems and pressing practical tasks in the field of water resource protection and utilization were highlighted.
