On April 29, students and staff of P.M. Masherov VSU participated in the international car rally "Along the Roads of War – Along the Roads of Victory," dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory.

The rally started in the Polotsk district and proceeded to the Pskov region through the village of Kuznetsovka. The initiator of the rally was the university's long-time partner and friend, Eduard Kazamirovich Tereshko. The goal of the event was to hand over a multiple rocket launcher system, popularly known as "Katyusha" during the Great Patriotic War, to the Pskov region. The rally featured military equipment manufactured during the Soviet era, including KrAZ, Ural, GAZ, and UAZ vehicles, as well as a combat reconnaissance airborne vehicle.

The first stop for the rally participants was the village of Kuznetsovka in the Sebezh district, where participants had installed a memorial marker last year, an initiative of Eduard Kazimirovich. P.M. Masherov VSU participants took part in laying flowers and honoring the memory of the fallen soldiers.

Next, the rally participants proceeded to Idritsa, where they were greeted at the "Banner of Victory" monument by Alexander Subbotin, Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, and Mikhail Vedernikov, Governor of the Pskov region. For uniting society, developing the patriotic movement, and actively participating in the patriotic education of youth, Eduard Kazamirovich Tereshko was awarded the "Kurgan Druzhby" (Mound of Friendship) medal.

To conclude the program, participants witnessed an aviation display by four fighter jets from the legendary aerobatic team "Russian Knights." After the rally concluded, the VSU participants shared their impressions.

Milana Zakharova, student of the Faculty of Humanities, Knowledge and Communications:

When you are in such truly sacred places, you feel pride in the heroic deed of our ancestors and your own responsibility for preserving everything we have today. Participating in the international road rally is an opportunity to honor the memory of our common heroes shared with the fraternal Russian people and to reflect on the tragic pages of our history. I am grateful to my university and Eduard Kazimirovich for the opportunity to participate in the rally and experience this unforgettable atmosphere.

Anastasia Pipko, student of the Pedagogical Faculty:

The event was very solemn, and it evoked even greater pride in our ancestors' past and our homeland. I really enjoyed the demonstration performances by the Russian Air Force aerobatic team "Russian Knights."

Arkhip Kupchenko, student of the Faculty of Mathematics and Information Technology:

This is an event that deserves deep respect and admiration. Such events help preserve the historical memory of the Great Patriotic War, uniting generations in their desire to honor the feat of our ancestors.

Nadezhda Alenicheva, student of the Pedagogical Faculty:

Two friendly states together honored the memory of heroes and paid tribute to them for the peaceful sky above our heads. The program was truly interesting; the air show was especially memorable. I am grateful to my university and Eduard Kazimirovich for the opportunity to participate in the rally and feel these unforgettable emotions.

Vasilisa Ivanyushchenko, student of the Faculty of Law:

The event united people for whom the ideas of patriotism, historical memory, and international cooperation are important. During the rally, there was a special atmosphere of unity: participants sang the national anthems of both countries, laid flowers at the memorial dedicated to the feat of Soviet soldiers.

Darina Konopatskaya, student of the Pedagogical Faculty:

Laying flowers at memorial complexes, the military equipment, the breathtaking air show, and most importantly – the rally itself, during which we escorted the "Katyusha" to the Pskov region. Thank you very much to our university and Eduard Kazimirovich for the opportunity to participate in this event. I will remember this day for a long time!

Elizaveta Sipacheva, student of the Faculty of Chemical, Biological and Geographical Sciences:

It was my first time visiting the Pskov region. Laying flowers, a minute of silence, the great Katyusha, and the memorials – just a glance at them sends shivers down your spine. The trip itself was fun, interesting, exciting, and educational.

Ekaterina Zaitseva, student of the Faculty of Humanities, Knowledge and Communications:

The car rally, which I participated in for the first time, was not just an exciting event but also a reason to be proud of our people, of Belarus and Russia, which are united in their desire for peace on earth. The solemnity of the event, the breathtaking air show, the friendly atmosphere, and new acquaintances – that's how I remember our trip.

The memory of the feats of our ancestors, thanks to whom we live in a peaceful and prosperous country, must be kept in our hearts forever. Standing at the "Banner of Victory" monument, you feel the immense strength and unity of the two peoples of Belarus and Russia who fought in that terrible and bloody war. Such events help to reaffirm that our common memory and glory of the people's feats must be preserved and the information passed on to future generations.

Nikita Pertsoy, student of the Faculty of Humanities, Knowledge and Communications:

I especially enjoyed visiting the memorable and majestic places, as they make you realize the greatness of our people's deed and take pride in being the heirs of this Victory. We have no right to forget the lessons of the past. And it is precisely through such events that respect for history and pride in one's country can be fostered.
