MASHEROVTSY TOOK PART IN THE ONLINE MEETING «LIVING LITERATURE: A CONTRIBUTION TO THE FUTURE»
Participants of the International Literary Campaign «The Soul of the People in the Works of Poets and Writers» from higher education institutions in the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation gathered on May 27 for an online meeting titled «Living Literature: Contribution to the Future» to summarize the campaign's results and share their experiences in organizing events to promote literature among young people.
The campaign, moderated by the libraries of Pskov State University and the Belarusian-Russian University, ran from April 2 to May 20 and was timed to coincide with the Day of Unity of the Peoples of Belarus and Russia, as well as dedicated to the Year of Belarusian Women in the Republic of Belarus and the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia in the Russian Federation. Twelve higher education institutions from both countries participated. Ten Belarusian universities submitted 48 applications to the organizers' website, including 17 from VSU named after P.M. Masherov.
To participate in the campaign, participants had to record a video of an expressive reading of a literary excerpt by a writer or poet and post it online with the hashtag #soul_of_the_people_literature. Our university submitted the largest number of videos, created by a student from the VSU named after P.M. Masherov Lyceum, students from the Faculty of Humanities and Communication, the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports, the Faculty of Social Pedagogy and Psychology, the Faculty of Education and the Faculty of Law, faculty, and staff of the VSU Scientific Library. All of them received participation certificates.
During the online meeting «Living Literature: A Contribution to the Future», the organizers thanked everyone for their participation and proposed continuing the tradition of holding such international events.
