On November 21 Vitebsk State University named after P.M. Masherova celebrated its birthday. The celebration of this wonderful day began with the interactive educational game «109 facts about VSU» and other festive events. The culmination was the most long-awaited award ceremony of a special prize «Docendo discimus».

On the 30th of October the 2nd International Sportlandia was held in the VSU named after P.М. Masherov. Teachers and their students took part in the competition. Four teams had to overcome 14 challenging stages to defeat their rivals.

On October 24-25, workshops were held at the faculty of art and graphics, initiated by a practicing designer, lecturer and Vice-President of the International Institute of Information design in Vienna- Martin Faessler.

On October 17 the delegation from the People's Republic of China visited the VSU named after P.M. Masherov. The main purpose of the visit was to discuss cooperation on educational and student exchange programmes and also the opportunities for Chinese citizens to study at the university.

From the 7th to the 11th of October, the Law Department hosted the Week of International Law - a series of lectures and training sessions aimed at a practice-oriented study by law students of various aspects of international public law.

On October 2, Kevin Reiling, Regional Director for American Councils for International Education, had the opportunity to conduct a pre-departure orientation for 12 students from Vitebsk State University (VSU) who will be departing for the U.S. at the end of the month.

Solemn opening ceremony of the Chinese language and Chinese culture center was held on August 30 at VSU with the participation of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China in the Republic of Belarus Mr. Cui Qiming and members of the Embassy delegation.

At the end of last week workshops of the famous Riga-based artist Ance Gritsmane were held at the “Sacred Abstraction” project at the Art faculty of our university. The participants were teachers, undergraduates and students of Art faculty.

VSU named after P.M. Masherov opened a Centre for French Language and Culture. The ceremonial opening was attended by the representatives of the Embassy of the French Republic in the Republic of Belarus.

On April 11, the regional competition of grace and artistic skill « The Queen of Spring» was held. Nine participants competed for the title and the opportunity to represent Vitebsk Region at the national level.
