The folk male choir of VSU and “Resonance-Chance” team took part in the VI International Online Festival CYBERART 2020. The purpose of the festival is to provide an opportunity for creative groups and individual performers to participate remotely in the international competition of musical creativity.

On January 30 President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko agreed on the appointment of Valentina Bogatyreva for a position of rector. Valentina Bogatyreva is Doctor of Economic Sciences and Full Professor. The personnel issue was considered at Independence Palace in Minsk.

On December 28 VSU students took part in Viennese Ball, which was held at Independence Palace. Students and those who are to choose a future career danced waltz. Everyone has already achieved special success in study, creativity and came out in elite sport.

About 600 children from 32 schools and gymnasiums of Vitebsk and Vitebsk region took part in educational quest aiming at career guidance. Quest “VSU Start” was held at our university on December 14. Pupils of forms 9-11 could show their ingenuity, knowledge in various fields and teamwork skills.

On December 12 the delegation of representatives of educational institutions from the Jiangxi province of the People’s Republic of China visited the VSU named after P.M. Masherov. The aim of the visit was to sign more than 20 cooperation agreements with representatives of educational institutions of the Vitebsk region.

On December 10 during the online conference was organized the work of the section «Joint programs of higher education as a factor of internationalization and efficiency improvement» (as the example was taken the implementation of the 3+3 program with the Hohhot professional Institute). 

On November 26 the Head of the European Union's representative Office in Belarus Dirk Schuebel visited Vitebsk state University named after P. M. Masherov within the framework of the forum «EU-Belarus Cooperation: Vitebsk region».

On November 8 the 12th Belarusian expedition went to Antarctica. The expeditionary team included 8 people. Among them was Nikita Iziderov – a 2018 graduate of the Chair of Geography of the Faculty of Biology, majoring in 1-31 02 01 Geography.

On November 11-13 the first meeting of the members of the international project «Baltik Sea Region Climate Change Curriculum» was held. Experts from nine European countries like Sweden, Finland, Estonia, Lithuania, Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Germany, and Poland participate in the project.

On November 21 Vitebsk State University named after P.M. Masherova celebrated its birthday. The celebration of this wonderful day began with the interactive educational game «109 facts about VSU» and other festive events. The culmination was the most long-awaited award ceremony of a special prize «Docendo discimus».
